I read something about an artist, who has been in the game for a relatively short period of time, thinking about “retiring” which made me think…..

The Director position is responsible for overseeing the execution and management of all public relations campaigns and activities for BET Networks original and acquired program launches, ongoing series publicity, promotional initiatives and brand-extension initiatives such as live events and tours. The Director will oversee the day-to-day press relations team. Will need to build and manage internal and external relationships through strong management, team building and strong strategic management skills. Position requires current and past pitching skills with proven ability to provide direction to direct reports with respect to story placements within national consumer and trade press in both print and online, as well as in broadcast and radio.
The Director should have a proven track record in a leadership role (minimum 6+ years), managing staff and publicity campaigns at a reputable agency and/or TV/Cable/Media Network.
· Must have strong built in contacts and experience working with outside media contacts.
· Must have excellent writing skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
· The Director must be a self-starter as well as a motivator for direct reports.
· Must have the ability to develop, manage and mentor a team.
· Proven decision making, networking and communication skills is key!
Four year college degree is required.

UGQ Companyand the CCM Foundation are excited to announce a collaborative effort to present the 2nd Annual Chad ‘Pimp C’ Butler Hip Hop, Health & Wellness Fair, which was founded in remembrance of Legendary rapper Pimp C. This event is co-sponsored by Houston Syphilis Elimination Advisory Council (S.E.A.C) to raise awareness for our youth today, whom sometimes lack the resources or even the knowledge to realize the importance of regular physical exams, frequent HIV/STD testing, drug prevention and abuse.
The movement started locally, yet quickly grew to National and even gained global attention with the worldwide popularity from those desiring to honor and remember Chad ‘Pimp C’ Butler and because of this demand, the event will be moved from Port Arthur to Houston, Texas and will be held Saturday, December 11th @ Forest Brook Middle School, located at 7525 Tidwell, Houston, TX 77028.
